Somos el único concesionario Mitsubishi de Antioquia que se dedica a la comercialización y presta todos los servicios posventa como taller de mecánica, carrocería y venta de repuestos de vehículos Mitsubishi.

Nuestra casa matriz es Motorysa (Motores y Máquinas S.A.), una empresa con más de 50 años en el mercado importando vehículos Mitsubishi, siendo los únicos en el país que distribuyen la marca de los tres diamantes.

Razón Social

Actualmente, Sumicar esta creada bajo la razón social MEGAUTO S.A.S., una empresa que desde mayo del 2022 pertenece al Grupo Agenciauto, un holding empresarial que comercializa marcas como Renault, Toyota, Peugeot, Volkswagen, Opel entre otros, dándole su toque de experiencia para continuar con esta trayectoria.

HISTORIA MITSUBISHI

La marca y el nombre de Mitsubishi, se refieren a tres diamantes. Su nombre se deriva de las palabras mitsu, que significa tres, e hishi, que significa castañas de agua triangulares. Esta es una de las mayores compañías de Japón que fue fundada el 13 de mayo de 1870 por Yatarō Iwasaki, hijo de una familia samurai, quienes desempeñaron un importante papel en la transformación de Japón en una sociedad industrializada. En un principio se dedicaron al transporte marítimo para posteriormente pasar a fabricar automóviles y camionetas. Desde ese momento, han creado vehículos representativos a nivel mundial como la Mitsubishi Montero, una camioneta legendaria que se convirtió en un ícono de la marca y del segmento 4x4 en los años 80 junto con la L200, generando una participación importante en el segmento de las pick-up.

Creación

Sumicar ha sido el único concesionario Mitsubishi en Antioquia desde su creación en el año 1982; cuando pertenecían a un grupo empresarial y comenzaron a comercializar esta marca a través de Motorysa quienes traían estos vehículos importados

Independencia de Mitsubishi Sumicar del grupo empresarial

En 1990, las dos familias dueñas de esta concesión, independizaron Mitsubishi Sumicar del grupo empresarial, comercializando vehículos importados por Motorysa y por la CCA (Compañía Colombiana Automotriz). Estos últimos, eran los únicos autorizados por Japón en Colombia para ensamblar vehículos de esta marca; así que en los años 90s sale el primer Mitsubishi Wagon 3000 producido en el país, y posteriormente en el año 1997 llega el sistema inyección con el Mitsubishi Hard Top.

1990

Venta de Mitsubishi Sumicar

En el año 2000 deciden vender la empresa y entregarla a Gabriel Delgado, quien fue gerente de Sumicar por 10 años y paso a ganarse la concesión nuevamente para continuar con el legado de Mitsubishi en Antioquia.

El último vehículo Mitsubishi ensamblado en Colombia que sacó la CCA al mercado fue en el año 2012 y el 30 de mayo de 2014 cerró sus puertas; quedando únicamente Motorysa en el mercado.

Venta a la Organización Agenciauto

Actualmente, Sumicar sigue siendo el único concesionario y taller autorizado en Antioquia, el cual desde mayo del 2022 pertenece al Grupo Agenciauto, un holding de empresas en donde se distribuyen vehículos Renault, Toyota, Peugeot, Volkswagen, Opel entre otros.
